In 1980, when beer was just 28p a pint and you were allowed to stand up at concerts without being prosecuted, full width Hi-Fi separates ruled the roost. They sounded great and had every facility you would ever need, but unfortunately, because many customers needed lots of source options (turntable, CD, radio, tape etc) they often ended up being a little on the large side. Over the following years, the Hi-Fi industry responded by miniaturising everything, but unfortunately, performance got miniaturised into the bargain!
These days, full size separates are making something of a comeback, because customers typically only need a couple of boxes (CD + Amp) and recognise that full-width separates will always sound better than their miniaturised cousins. This Onkyo combo is a great example, because it clearly out-performs the vast majority of mini systems, yet actually costs less and doesn't take up that much more room. In addition, it also boasts the sort of facilities that most mini systems can only dream of (phono input + four other inputs + twin speaker outputs + tone controls). 'Sound per Pound' there is no better buy!

Mission yet again needs to make some more space in its trophy cabinet, because its sensational all-new MX1 has just swept the board at the prestigious 2010-2011 What Hi-Fi awards!

The MX1s offers astonishing value for money - as What Hi-Fi concluded, there simply is no better speaker at this price.
